Just letting any interested parties know that I no longer plan on writing anything here.

I still update [info]words_of_wisdom, and I suggest you add that if you want to hear from me. While they aren't my own words, you can take them as such in a certain sense. Everything in there resonates with my mindframe at the time of writing, somewhat.

I just can't write here anymore. I am writing somewhere else. But my writing depends on it being hidden. It's in plain view if anyone cares enough. If you find me, please let me know. It will be reassuring. However I refuse to broadcast it.

I'll return here to mull over my old words. The ones I wrote that I consider worth revisiting. Mostly old things. And I think I'll be checking the friends list to keep up with the few of you I still keep up with.

Thank you.

Hmm, does anyone know why Healdsburg lost power earlier today? (The 2nd time) I heard something about an explosion? Nothing online yet.

I had a dream that I got a 1.8% on a programming test I was forced to take.

My uncle/boss is obsessed with this aptitude test, and he's given it to everyone at work. I don't usually dream of tests, or programming, but for some reason I did this time. I don't think it was even possible to get a 1.8%, as a fraction of a percent is a little more detailed than the test computes.

Anyway. I actually got a 97%, which is a bit baffling. It is the same score as my uncle/boss, whose is a programmer. I've never done anything of the sort. But I guess if I wanted to, I'd be suited for it. I found it awkwardly worded and unnecessarily misleading at times, but otherwise the test wasn't anything special. I got one question wrong, a different one than he did. Everyone else has scored lower.

Very strange.

I would send you to a place you could try it, but apparently only institutions can buy it, and I don't think any one of you would want to waste money on it anyway.

My uncle has decided not to pursue any training for me here at work.

my life currently consists of work, the gym, and sitting in my house before going to bed at an unreasonably early time.

I accomplish nothing, but I'm making money. And I now know how to sell your crap on eBay.

Quality, quality reading here. Hilarious actually. Atlanta Nights, check Wikipedia. Or read this: http://www.cs.du.edu/~aburt/StingManuscript.pdf Chapter 34 is probably best.

sample:

"The expensive shoes she wore, high heels that matched her tight dress, and set off her red hair, were delicately shaped by the stiletto heels and sharp toes, the lift they gave curving her creamy calves and making her rounded bottom move like a semaphore of love as she walked past the framed mirror that she had been looking in. Her hazel eyes sparkled as she took in the sight of her newly-returned boyfriend in the wheeled chair that marked him some disabled person.

"Would you like a drinkie?" Penelope offered her recently returned beau as his friend pushed him in front of the wide-screen TV that dominated the west wall without making it seem overpowering.

"Dammit, yes," Bruce Lucent repeated, looking at this vision of feminine lust on two feet, "I've been in the lousy hospital and they don't let you have a little drink there," he opined. "Then I want to get to my new computer so I can check on my hot stock options and write more on my best-selling software development. I've wasted too much time locked in that smelly hospital. It's full of sick, people." Penelope and Isadore looked at each other, as only two redheads can look at one another as Bruce delivered himself of this comment."

So, I'm home. Jetlagged like crazy and working 9-5, but home and getting the most break I will.

I have a paper to write in a month. That's about it.

I will keep a trip journal, so I'll actually be writing here, maybe.

Grade Projections:

Global Studies: A? A-? Never had a problem with this class.. hoping for the best.
Cities of Europe: This grade has three parts, A first paper A- second, who knows for the third? But I did attend, and that is somehow factoring in, hope to bump up from a probable A- to an A.
Contemporary China: Went into the final with a solid B+, probably going to end up with that, or if I'm lucky an A-. Did not put anywhere near enough effort into the class, only took it to learn about China before I got there. It served its purpose.
Chicano Studies Seminar: I had better get a good grade in this class, it has been way more hassle than it ever should have been, I've done way more than my part of the project and I have worked too hard to get screwed over by my group members who never showed up to anything or did anything. I did almost the entire presentation, most of the research, showed up to things no one else did. I refuse.

Yep, not a very interesting. But I am writing something...

I have watched a ton of Mythbusters, the cheesy ghost stories, and Cash Cab this week. Ah procrastination.

I happened across my old windows and thought I'd see where I stood now. So here's a new set to label me by!

Feel free to make yourself some sort of anonymous symbol if you aren't comfortable with divulging your identity

I could put up my old ones for a comparison later...

Dear Participant,

On behalf of FORGE, and the refugee communities of Zambia, thank you so much for registering for Baridi Night!

Baridi Night will be held in Bradley International on April 20th from 7pm until 1am. The evening will include African food, live African music, a refugee multi-media exhibition, activities, and speakers. We also know that popular Ghanaian musician Wanlov will be performing. You can check out his music at www.wanlov.com. We are so happy to have you with us!

Please remember that, in an effort to support and assist African refugees, you have pledged to raise at least $50 by the start of the event on April 20th. But by using our fundraising toolkit, found at http://www.forgenow.org/realrefuge/guidelines.htm we know that it will be very easy for you to raise the requirement. We challenge you to try and fundraise even more! The top 3 fundraisers will receive a prize at the event. Good luck!

Once again, thank you for your efforts. You will receive weekly updates, instructions, and guidelines from us in the weeks leading up to Baridi Night on April 20th. If you have decided to spend the night without a blanket in one of our on campus locations, we will be in touch soon.

Encourage your friends to join you at this event! They can register on the website http://www.FORGEnow.org/realrefuge/LAhelp.html. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at BaridiLA@forgenow.org.

With excitement and gratitude,

The LA Baridi Night Team

Does anyone around the LA area want to participate? Also, is anyone willing to sponsor me for a portion of the $50? Many of you I feel I could trust to give me the money at a later date if you said yes, it's entirely optional :) Psst, I can invite you to the facebook event if you want to know more

Between the music, the chimes, the pretty dots and the fact that I can't get it to say anything better than "good" when I finish it, I am thoroughly addicted.

I kept saying they looked smaller but people just thought I was insane. I know my cadbury eggs, people. I don't take my favorite candy lightly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadbury's_Creme_Egg#Size_controversy

I'm sure they did it either so that their nutrition facts read in a slightly less horrifying way (creme eggs are not good for you at all) or to save money in some manner.

It's actually refreshing to see portion size on anything getting smaller rather than bigger, although I think they cost the same as before, and that is sad. I always preferred the mini ones for good chocolate to filling ratios anyway.

I am familiar with the caramel eggs (don't like them) but the other flavors are new to me.. I doubt anything would be better than the original though.

Also, if you were planning to buy any of that horrific "boys are stupid, throw rocks at them" merchandise, please don't. Apparently Todd Goldman pretty much sucks.
